The People Plugin is proud to be partnering with Crop Shop Boutique (CSB), a fast-growing Australian e-commerce brand redefining athleisure, to recruit an experienced Head of Financial Planning & Analysis.
Founded in 2019 by Rachel Dillon, CSB blends style, function and confidence in every piece, with a mission to empower women worldwide. Designed for the active woman, CSB creates elevated yet effortless athleisure that supports women to move through their day with confidence.
About the Role
Reporting to the COO, the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis will build and lead CSB’s FP&A capability, providing the financial modelling, commercial insight, planning discipline and decision support required to enable sustainable and profitable growth.
This is a senior and highly hands-on position with no direct reports initially. You will personally own the core FP&A agenda, including annual planning, rolling forecasts, long-range strategic modelling, scenario analysis, management reporting, investment evaluation and business partnering.
You will establish best-practice modelling standards, scalable data structures, strong governance and a consistent commercial performance rhythm across the business.
Working closely with the COO, Executive Committee and leaders across Merchandise, Product, Marketing, Ecommerce, Retail, Operations, Supply Chain and People & Culture, you will translate complex financial and operational data into clear commercial recommendations and action.
Key Focus Areas
Planning, Forecasting & Strategic Modelling
- Own CSB’s annual budget, rolling forecast and reforecast processes.
- Build integrated profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.
- Develop long-range financial plans aligned with CSB’s strategic growth ambitions.
- Maintain visibility across financial risks, opportunities and forecast confidence.
- Evaluate growth opportunities through disciplined financial, operational and risk-based analysis.
- Track investment performance, ROI and payback against expectations.
- Own forward-looking cash flow and liquidity forecasting in partnership with Financial Control.
Commercial Performance & Insight
- Lead monthly business performance reporting across actuals, budgets, forecasts, prior-year results and strategic targets.
- Identify the drivers behind performance across revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, cash flow and working capital.
- Move beyond reporting what happened to explain why it happened, what it means and what action should follow.
- Deliver concise and commercially sophisticated insights to the Executive Committee and functional leaders.
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analysis to support informed and timely decisions.
Business Partnering
- Act as a senior finance partner to leaders across the business, combining constructive challenge with practical commercial support.
- Partner with Merchandise and Product on range architecture, intake, margin, markdowns, inventory productivity and investment.
- Partner with Marketing and Ecommerce on channel economics, acquisition, retention, promotional effectiveness and ROI.
- Partner with Operations, Retail and Supply Chain on capacity, productivity, cost-to-serve, fulfilment, 3PL and expansion decisions.
- Hold stakeholders accountable to financial commitments while building strong and collaborative relationships.
Data, Systems & Governance
- Design scalable FP&A data structures, reporting hierarchies and source-of-truth definitions.
- Strengthen data quality and the reconciliation of operational and financial information.
- Establish consistent modelling standards across assumptions, version control, auditability, sensitivity analysis and documentation.
- Ensure financial models are transparent, scalable and able to be understood and challenged by stakeholders.
- Implement appropriate planning, reporting and automation tools to reduce manual effort and improve decision speed.
Building CSB’s FP&A Capability
- Build CSB’s FP&A operating rhythm, templates, standards and ways of working from the ground up.
- Personally own analysis, model development, reporting and stakeholder engagement during the initial stage.
- Balance recurring financial processes with strategic and project-based priorities.
- Define the future structure and capability requirements of the FP&A function as the business continues to grow.
- Drive continuous improvement across planning, reporting, systems and commercial decision-making.
Treasury & Foreign Exchange
- Own CSB’s treasury function across its APAC and United States entities.
- Manage cash positioning, banking relationships, liquidity and facility requirements.
- Monitor foreign exchange exposure arising from multi-currency revenue, supplier payments and intercompany transactions.
- Develop FX hedging strategies and policies aligned with CSB’s risk appetite.
- Report on currency exposure, hedge effectiveness, liquidity and treasury performance.
About You
You are a commercially minded and highly capable FP&A leader who is equally comfortable developing strategy, building detailed financial models and working directly with stakeholders across the business.
You enjoy creating structure in fast-moving environments and are motivated by the opportunity to build an FP&A capability rather than inherit an established function.
You bring:
- At least eight years of relevant experience across FP&A, commercial finance, strategic finance or management consulting, including senior-level experience.
- Demonstrated success building or significantly improving an FP&A function within a fast-growth, consumer, retail, e-commerce or similarly dynamic environment.
- Advanced financial modelling capability, including integrated three-statement, driver-based, scenario and sensitivity modelling.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, cash flow, working capital and commercial performance measurement.
- The ability to personally build detailed, scalable and auditable models from first principles.
- Strong commercial judgement and an ability to connect operational drivers, customer behaviour and strategic decisions to financial outcomes.
- Experience establishing governance, improving data integrity and creating scalable reporting structures.
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex analysis and influence senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative and low-ego approach, balanced with the confidence to challenge constructively.
- A hands-on, delivery-focused working style and comfort operating without an initial team.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability, with exposure to FP&A, ERP, BI or data visualisation platforms highly regarded.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA, CFA or an equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
