The People Plugin is proud to be partnering with Stamping Ground Agency, a highly connected boutique communications, publicity, talent and marketing agency, to recruit a talented Commercial Director / Commercial Manager for an exciting new next phase of its growth. 

Stamping Ground works across sport, lifestyle, entertainment, health, community and major events, developing high-impact campaigns that help brands and organisations build profile and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

Stamping Ground Agency is  launching a boutique, commercially led talent division, to continue the great work the agency has achieved in the sports ecosystem,by representing athletes and media talent with a PR led approach to build talent profile and commercial viability.

This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground level of a new division with strong foundations, established networks and significant growth potential.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Founder and Director of Stamping Ground Agency the Commercial Director / Commercial Manager will play a central role in building the commercial function of Stamping Talent.

This role is less about day-to-day talent management and more about commercial strategy, business development, brand partnerships, sponsorships, ambassador opportunities and revenue generation.

You will be responsible for identifying where commercial opportunities sit, opening doors with brands and agencies, positioning talent in a commercially compelling way, building and managing a strong pipeline of opportunities and converting relationships into meaningful partnerships.

This is a role for someone who is highly connected, commercially sharp, entrepreneurial and excited by the opportunity to help build something while closing deals.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and drive the commercial strategy for Stamping Ground Talent division
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of brand, sponsorship, ambassador and campaign opportunities.
  • Lead outbound prospecting from systems and process through to execution.
  • Convert leads, relationships and market opportunities into commercial deals.
  • Develop pricing, proposal structures, commission models and partnership packages.
  • Lead commercial conversations from introduction through to negotiation and close.
  • Help build a strong and sustainable commercial model for the business.

Brand & Agency Relationships

  • Open doors with senior decision-makers across brands, agencies, rights holders and corporate networks.
  • Build relationships with CMOs, CEOs, Marketing Directors, Brand Managers and Sponsorship Leads.
  • Represent Stamping Ground in market with professionalism, confidence and commercial authority.
  • Position Stamping Ground as a premium and commercially effective talent agency.

Talent Commercialisation

  • Work with the Founder to identify commercial opportunities for athletes and media personalities.
  • Assess talent based on brand fit, commercial potential, audience, profile, values and marketability.
  • Shape commercial strategy and positioning for individual talent.
  • Match talent with relevant brands, campaigns, events and content opportunities.
  • Ensure opportunities align with the talent’s values, profile and long-term career direction.

Market Intelligence & Partnerships

  • Stay across trends in sport, media, talent, sponsorship, brand partnerships and athlete commercialisation.
  • Understand what brands are buying, where budgets are sitting and what types of talent partnerships are gaining traction.
  • Provide insights into pricing, market appetite, category opportunities and emerging commercial trends.
  • Build strategic alliances with player managers, sports organisations, media networks and talent pathways.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Stamping Ground team across PR, media, events, content and campaign delivery.
  • Ensure commercial opportunities are supported by strong publicity, storytelling and campaign execution where relevant.
  • Help create a seamless connection between talent, brands, media and audience outcomes.
  • Contribute to the growth, culture and commercial direction of the business.

About You

You are commercially driven, well connected and confident operating at a senior level.

You understand sport, media, brands and talent, but most importantly, you know how to create commercial opportunity. You are comfortable picking up the phone, opening doors, building trust quickly and converting conversations into meaningful partnerships.

You bring:

  • 5 to 8+ years’ experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship, talent, media, sport, brand marketing, agency, events or entertainment.
  • Proven experience generating revenue and closing commercial deals.
  • Strong experience in setting up and managing an effective CRM
  • A strong network across Australian brands, agencies, corporate decision-makers and commercial partners.
  • Strong understanding of talent partnerships, ambassador programs, sponsorship, content and brand campaigns.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an outcome-focused mindset.
  • The ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.
  • An entrepreneurial approach and genuine excitement for building something from the ground up.
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion and relationship management.
